Richard Healey was suddenly taken from us on Tuesday March 17 at 61 years young. The Lord must have needed him most at this time in Heaven. Rich brought immeasurable pleasure to everyone in his life - a life that he lived to the fullest. As many have shared their memories, the common theme was Rich always had the pedal to the metal.
Rich was born to parents Roy Bud and Donna Healey and raised in Seattle. Growing up, Rich resided with his parents and two older sisters, Diane and Sue, in North Seattle. Rich attended Ingraham High School and graduated in 1971.
Rich is survived by his wife Tani whom he married on Aug 5, 2000. This was the second time Rich and Tani had connected and they were inseparable from there on. Rich is also survived by his cherished son Jacob Healey, two sisters Diane and husband Jim, Sue and husband Steve, step-son Kyle Chandler and wife Juliette, three granddaughters Ava, Alivia, and Kylee. Though he was a big man among men he always melted when he held his beautiful granddaughters.
In addition Rich is survived by brother-in-law Arne Berg and wife Lori, sister-in-law Sonya Loughnan, mother-in-law Carol Berg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Enjoyments -
Rich was an accomplished highly decorated boater and motorcycle racer during his teens and early twenties and acquired countless awards and trophies. He then began his career in land surveying, which he loved, and eventually became a partner at Orca Land Surveying in Everett. Rich has been an extreme sports enthusiast all of his life and arguably the Seahawks number one 12th man fan. In addition to pro-football Rich loved the UW Huskies, NASCAR, Seattle Mariners, and would always love raising his glass to support his sport teams. His highlight was the Seahawks Championship Super Bowl victory and after last year's heartbreaking loss he was very confident they would return in 2016. Rich loved music from classic to hard rock, heavy metal, electronic dance, and rap.
Rich had a gift of drawing people to him and making instant friendships with his bigger than life smile. Once you met Rich you gained a lifelong friend.
