It is hard to adequately describe Dick’s infectious energy.  So many favorite memories exist, it is impossible to choose—from the clam lunches at rays, to when he would take my youngest daughter, Cristina, on motorcycle rides up and down our street. I will never forget either one of their HUGE smiles as he sat her in front of him and let her “steer” the bike. He showed up in Arizona, unannounced, on Christmas Eve one year, seamlessly blending, bearing  a framed photograph of my boyfriend, Jon Bon Jovi, as my Christmas gift, insisting it be hung in the family wall. It is still one of my most cherished memories, and gifts.  He will be forever missed and always made our lives brighter— and full of more laughter. RIP

To say Dick Seaborn was one of a kind is an understatement. Richard lived life like he had a tiger by the tail going from one adventure to the next. I had the good fortune of working with Dick during his fledgling days at Sea and Shore Construction. A company he built into a proper commercial enterprise, and my tenure would turn into a friendship that lasted a lifetime. I will forever remember his laugh and his questionable decisions, most recently a purchase of a vintage biplane or the fastest production motorcycle ever made. I suppose there was nothing out of character for such a character. He was always a bright spot in your day and there was nothing superficial about him. Dick Seaborn, you were loved and you will be missed. Thank you for being you, you were one of a kind.

I had the pleasure of meeting Richard when he agreed to install some stone steps at my home. It was a small project compared to the usual work his company handled and a bit outside of the area he normally worked in, but after some initial hesitation, he kindly agreed to help me out. The work was unsurprisingly exceptional, and I am forever grateful.  A bonus to the work, was it gave me the opportunity to meet Richard. I found him to be an incredibly interesting guy with lots of stories, a great love of music, love of the water, fun vehicles and life. I enjoyed the time I had talking to him.

It was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He had a lot more life to live. The world lost a truly great guy. My sincere condolences to his family.

You were quite the guy! Your wit, brains, and humor made it a joy to be around you. You left a lot of yourself in all the pilings you have scattered around Puget Sound.
