

Robert Vincent Evans died October 14, 2009 at his home in Kirkland, Washington. Bob, as he was known to most people, was 51 years old. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on September 21, 1958 to the late William A. and Katherine B. (Doerr) Evans Davidson.
Bob graduated from Lake County High School in 1977. As a youth he became a Vigil member of the OA and earned his Eagle Award in Boy Scouts. He went into the Marine Reserves right after graduation and received top honors for his platoon. He then went to work for Climax Molybdenum Company. After completing the Electrical program at Climax, he moved to Denver, Colorado where he went to work for Honeywell and married his first wife Debra. He started a family and went to college full time to earn his degree in computers. He graduated 4.0 top of his class and was hired by Apple Computer, Inc. and subsequently moved his family to Portland, Oregon and then to Seattle, Washington. Bob earned many awards as the top salesman at Apple. He also worked for BEA Systems as a manager after Apple closed its facilities in Seattle. It was during this time that Bob was divorced and remarried.
Bob began volunteering with Scouting in 1978 in the World's Highest Council in Denver where he served as Scoutmaster and Assistant District Commissioner. With the Chief Seattle council he served as a Webelos leader, Troop Committee member, Exploring leader, Charter Partner Representative, District Committee member, and District Commissioner. He earned much recognition for his Scouting work including the Cub Scouter Award, Webelos Leader Award, Scoutmaster's Key, Commissioner's Key, Wood Badge beads, and the District Award of Merit. He also completed Philmont training and attended the National jamboree.
As an active member of his community Bob served on the Bear Creek School Cabinet, Ex Divitas Educational Foundation, Christa Ministries, and was a member of Rotary and Kiwanis. He served as youth pastor, Sunday school teacher, and Counselor in his church. Bob always excelled in all he did and was highly respected by all.
Bob is preceded in death by his father William A. Evans, his mother Katherine B. Davidson, and his youngest brother John Daniel Evans. He is survived by his wife, Elise Evans and youngest children Layla and Alexander of Kirkland, WA; his ex-wife Debra Evans and children James Evans and Chelsea Evans of Kirkland, WA; his step-father Jim Davidson of Lafayette, OR; and siblings Bill Evans of Grand Junction, CO; Shelly Evans of Portland, OR; Jim (Debbie) Evans of Juneau, AK; and Lisa (Tom) Scopacasa of Newberg, OR. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
