On January 10th, 2026, Robert Paul Franklin passed away at the age of 62. He was born on November 4th, 1963 in Saigon, Vietnam and was adopted to Lester O. Franklin and Mary L. Franklin at 3 years old. He preferred the nickname Bob, the name all who knew him by.
In June 1980, Lizanne Franklin, his wife came over to the United States following the end of the Vietnam War and subsequent rise of the communist Viet Cong regime. Bob’s parents knew Lizanne’s parents previously in Saigon and kept in touch through the years. Lester and Mary sponsored Lizanne’s family into the United States, settling in the city they made home, Seattle, Washington.
When Bob and Lizanne met again, they were inseparable soulmates. Seven years later in 1987, they married and began a 38-year long marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and true love. Together they raised adoring children, a son, James Franklin, and a daughter, Jennifer Franklin.
Bob was a loyal man who worked at the same company, Puget Sound Energy (PSE), as a gas analyst for 34 years. His steady routine became an earmark for his dependability. He had many interests in life such as travel, collectibles, racing, and creating gourmet dishes that evoked endless joy for his friends and family.
Bob is survived by his wife Lizanne, his two children James and Jennifer, and his sole granddaughter Tylee Franklin who he cherished deeply. He was an exceptionally loved and admired husband, father, grandfather, and friend who taught us all what true devotion to family means. His zeal for living life to the fullest every single day while treasuring each moment will live on through his loved ones eternally.
