It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bobbi, our loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on April 18, 2023.
Bobbi was born in Seattle and grew up in Kingston Washington, attending the one room schoolhouse until 1952. Her family then moved to Seattle and Bobbi graduated from Lincoln High. Bobbi worked her way up through the Rainbow girls to become the Worthy Advisor at 16. She attended the University of Washington and was part of the Lambda Chapter Gamma Phi Beta Sorority before leaving school to begin her family.
Bobbi was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma. She was very social with a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She was very curious and loved to ask questions to better know those she met. She could easily get to know you and was always ready to share a story about her loved ones, giving you a glimpse of her humor, her determination, and her beautifully full life.
Bobbi was a huge lover of animals of all kinds. She very rarely was seen without a pup by her side.
She was crafty with her hands and was always putting them to use. She kept busy by knitting hats and slippers to donate to those in need.
She made Christmas ornaments each year and you were lucky if you received one. She spent months preparing her homemade Christmas cards and family letter or map of who goes with who. She was an avid reader with a book always nearby.
Mom/Bobbi made everyone feel loved. She never missed a birthday for her 13 blended children and spouses or any of the 40+ grandchildren and greats! She always sent birthday cards, buying cards in bulk and shopping months in advance to prepare.
Bobbi loved the water and the beach. She was blessed to be able to live close to the water her entire life.
She especially loved her time cruising the waters of Washington and Canada and after that her home and friends on Hat Island.
Bobbi is preceded in death by many loved ones and she leaves behind many who loved her dearly:
Her husband Tom O’Day, children/step children Mike Bellman(Deb), Jim Bellman(Nancy), Tom Bellman(Loretta),Damon Barnett(Annie),Brigitte Baker(Pat), Joel Barnett(Connie), Mark Barnett, Rick(Cindy) Hansen, Shelli(Jim) Finholm, Dan(Carolyn) O'Day, Tari(Tim) Zentz, and Kelli(Eric) Hollingsworth. She was preceded in death by her step daughter Shannon O'Day.
A celebration of life will be held at the Elks in Everett, WA on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 1:30-4:00.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to an animal shelter or charity of your choice.
