Rodolfo "Rudy" Rendon Macias

January 21, 1924-December 23, 2010

Rodolfo Macias was born in Laredo, Texas to Catarino and Rosa Macias. Rudy was the youngest of 10 children. Rudy joined the Navy Reserves and after serving his country he married Maria Delgado. They lived in Laredo, Texas where they started their family, having a son Leo Macias (deceased in June 2010). Work brought the family to Seattle in 1946, where Yolanda and Rudy Jr. were born.

Rudy worked for Bethlehem Steel in the 22 inch mill as a Furnace Heater, retiring in 1987. Rudy married Christine Korakis in 1986. They spent 35 years together. Rudy was very proud of his Mexican culture and music. Rudy made friends easily and loved to play pool. He loved and was loved by his family.

Rudy leaves behind his daughter, Yolanda; son Rudy Jr. (Judy); stepsons, Rick (Gail) and Tim; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Rudy loved the Korakis family, the outings to Hoodsport. and the many memorable Macias/Mata family reunions in Salem, OR.

Viewing will be held at Yarington’s Funeral Home on Monday, January 3, 2010 from 11 AM – 1 PM, followed by a Funeral Service Monday, January 3, 2010 at 1 PM.
