Ron attended Ada High School, then Moorhead State College for one year before enlisting in the Army Air Corp. in October 1942. After the war Ron married his childhood sweetheart, Evelyn Dekko, on September 11, 1945, and continued his service duties until spring 1946. At that time he returned to school, earning a degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Minnesota.
Ron and Evie moved to Seattle in 1949, where Ron worked for Boeing in its wind tunnel testing facilities. He earned his Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington in the early 1970s. Ron worked on many military and commercial airplane programs over his 35 year career at Boeing from the B-47 to the 767.
Ron enjoyed golfing, reading, astronomy, family camping, traveling, Seattle sports teams, and was active in his church. His quick wit, work ethic and integrity were evident in all his life's passions and endeavors.
Ron is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Evelyn; children Stephen (Desolee), Gregory (Naomi), Michael (Renee') and Eric (Kimber); grandchildren Kelly, Evan, Mackenzie, Rachel and Megan; and great-grandchildren Alyssa, Erin and Nicholas.
