Surrounded by his loving family and many close friends, Ron passed into the hands of his Lord on July 19, 2002 after complications from heart surgery. A long-time resident of Seattle, Ron was born in Russiaville, Indiana on August 17, 1941 to Rev. Dean and Kathleen Gregory. The family moved to Portland, Oregon where Ron was raised. He graduated from Portland Christian High School and George Fox University, and received his law degree from Willamette University.
Ron started his business career in Seattle where he married Christine Kitsy Rosendale, his beloved wife of 29 years. Ron and Kitsy are the proud parents of two precious daughters, Nicole and Deana.
The chairman and chief executive officer of Olympic Capital Group, Inc., a commercial real estate company headquartered in Lynnwood, Ron was a businessman of high integrity. He gained great satisfaction from his vocation and ?loved the art of the deal.? Ron frequently said, ?I never worked a day in my life,? which he exemplified to his much loved and respected team of employees and associates. He gave freely of his time and resources to many non-profit organizations and boards on which he served, including Interdev and George Fox University, and was a long-time and active member at University Presbyterian Church.
Among Ron?s favorite activities were international and domestic travel, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, concocting friendly pranks, attending Mariner games, and boating and crabbing at the family beach house on Hood Canal. However, surpassing all interests was Ron?s constant devotion to his cherished family and his loving relationships with his many close friends. Without question, Kitsy was the love of Ron?s life. Known as the ?master of encouragement,? Ron always led with love, support, and kind words, making each person he encountered feel as if he or she was the most important person in the room.
Ron will be heartily missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father Rev. Dean Gregory of Newberg and is survived by his loving wife, Kitsy, daughters Nicole Matthew Cummings of Newberg and Deana Gregory of Honduras, his mother Kathleen Wilhite of Newberg, his brother Fred Susan Gregory of Seattle, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A celebration of Ron?s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24th at University Presbyterian Church.
