Her adventurous spirit took her to South Korea for 1 year and to Thailand for 6 years where she taught English as a second language. She was the Director of the English Program at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In 2000, her journey took her to see the Dalai Llama at a Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center in Dharamshala, India where she met Topjee. Shaun and Topjee fell in love and traveled to Northern India together in 2001 visiting Buddhist holy places and monasteries.
Shaun and Topjee moved to the United States in 2002, married and settled in Seattle, WA near the beautiful Greenlake area. Their son Tanzin Yeshe was born in October 2003 and brought home to the cozy house where they reside today. Shaun continued to use her gifts and worked at ReWA (Refugee Women’s Alliance) and taught English to immigrants at Highline Community College in King County WA. Shaun loved her family more than anything. She was an incredibly passionate person who strived to educate, learn and care for those less fortunate than herself, Shaun was a zealous advocate for neurodiversity, indigenous peoples, equality for all, the environment and nature. She was a very spiritual person and a healer who educated herself on plants and herbs to share their medicinal qualities with others. She also learned the healing traits of crystals, gems, minerals and studied tarot cards for many years and began giving readings to help people talk about their lives and find peace and revelations. Shaun will be greatly missed by her family, caring neighbors and many friends who truly understand just how special she was.
A private memorial will be held. Additionally, a celebration of life service will be announced at a later date held in Florida.
