SIGRID BJORNSON, 90, passed away April 2, 2002 in Seattle. She was born on May 28, 1911 in Pembina County, North Dakota, the daughter of Barney and Kristjana Stevenson. She was one of thirteen siblings: Jonina, Stefania, Albert, Anna, Robert, Stefan, Dorothy, Harold, Irene, Lawrence, Sylvia, and Flora. She married Tani Bjornson on December 3, 1936 in North Dakota. During the war years, they joined her sister, Stefania, in Seattle. They had: two children - Dennis Barbara Bjornson and Margaret Anne Michael Hlastala; five grandchildren ? Eric, Elaine, Dan, Michael and Stefanie; and one great-grandchild ? Jonah.
They were active members of Calvary Lutheran Church and the Icelandic Club of Greater Seattle. Sigrid and Tani contributed to the joy and happiness of many people through their music. Their home was always open to everyone. Sigrid was the historian for the Icelandic Club and the head librarian for the Boeing Company for many years.
She cherished her family and friends. Sigrid has now rejoined Tani forever. We will all miss both of them
