Somesh Kumar Vajpayee

Somesh Vajpayee, a resident of Seattle, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2023, in Kittitas County, Washington, leaving behind a legacy of brilliance and compassion. Born on September 27, 1982, in Lucknow, India, he was the cherished child of Ashok and Kanak Vajpayee. Somesh spent his formative years in Delhi, where he attended local schools and developed a thirst for knowledge.

Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, Somesh pursued higher education at the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, specializing in Instrumentation and Control. He then continued his academic journey at the esteemed Indian Institute of Management (IIM), known for its unparalleled MBA program, where he completed his master’s degree.

On December 9, 2010, Somesh embarked on a joyous journey of marriage, joining his life with Shilpa Sharma. Together, they created a loving and supportive family, with their firstborn child, Chief Hironori, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second child, Amaya.

Somesh's professional career thrived as a Senior Product Manager at Amazon in Seattle. His innate ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technological solutions made him invaluable to the organization. Passionate about creating transformative and user-friendly solutions, Somesh dedicated himself to designing seamless experiences for both customers and employees. Prior to his tenure at Amazon, Somesh spent 11 fruitful years at Virtusa, culminating in the position of Senior Manager Business Consultant in New York City.

Beyond the realm of work, Somesh was a polymath who found solace and joy in various pursuits. He was an avid reader, immersing himself in the wisdom of countless books. Nature beckoned him to explore its beauty through hiking adventures, while his green thumb flourished as he nurtured gardens of roses and fruit trees. Engaging in conversations that sparked knowledge and insights, Somesh's intellectual curiosity knew no bounds.

However, it was his unwavering dedication to his family that truly defined Somesh. He served as their anchor and pillar of strength, always ready to lend a helping hand. Known for his warm and affable nature, he effortlessly connected with others over shared meals, forging lasting friendships. He was a dedicated family man, a business visionary, and a beloved soul whose impact will forever be remembered.

Somesh is survived by his beloved spouse, Shilpa Sharma, their children, Chief Hironori and the forthcoming Amaya, as well as his caring sister, Noopur and brother in law Anurag Pandey. His mother Kanak Lata Vajpayee grieves his loss alongside a vast network of extended family members and friends. His nephews: Devansh, Hari, and Anshuman, will always remember and miss his love.
