Sonja passed away at home in Shoreline, Washington, on August 15th, 2022, after a long illness. Born in Pocatello, Idaho, on March 29th, 1969. She is a great-granddaughter of the Bobo and the Edwards clan. She spent most of her youth living in Seattle with her mother, and summers in Vienna with her father. Her mother treasured her quick wit, her feminism and her strength. Sonja was the flower of her father’s life.
While studying at the University of Washington and during her years working in telecom, she made a circle of both local and distant friends, a group of people she would cherish and be cherished by, for the rest of her life. Unceasingly encouraging and a consummate wiseass, she was uniquely gifted at making people feel they were supported and belonged. She loved the Puget Sound, dogs, the Seattle music scene, Krautstrudel, road trips, making art, and sunsets.
Sonja is survived by her family, Bill Bush and Claudia Krenz, Bob Krenz, Alina Eldredge, Christopher Lamont and Miles & Jupiter Titus. She is preceded in death by her beloved dog, Tito. She will be deeply missed. Memorial will be held at 5pm on Saturday, October 1st, at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church. Donations in lieu of flowers to charities supporting animals, reproductive rights, or cancer research.
A beautiful life that came to an end. She died as she lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts, a memory will always be kept. Of one we loved, and will never forget.
All are welcome to sign the online guestbook below and add any messages or stories for the Krenz-Bush families.
