Bill was born on July 24, 1952, and lived a life grounded in love, faith, and laughter. A devoted Catholic, his faith guided him through both joy and hardship, shaping the way he cared for others and lived each day with purpose.
Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Bill had a gift for making people laugh—even in difficult moments. His humor was more than just jokes; it was how he connected with others, lifted spirits, and brought light into every room he entered.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Monica Dodds, who passed in January 2013. Though he carried that loss deeply, he continued forward with strength, faith, and an enduring ability to find moments of joy and laughter.
As a father, Bill was dedicated and steadfast, always present with guidance, support, and love. He took immense pride in his children: Thomas Dodds, Carolyn (Dodds) Luedeke, and Andrew Dodds. He also held a special bond with his son-in-law, Tom Luedeke.
As a grandfather, Bill found one of his greatest joys. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren—Kaitlyn Luedeke, Dominic Luedeke, and Daytona (McLaughlin) Luedeke—sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories they will carry with them always.
An author at heart, Bill expressed himself through writing, capturing his thoughts, faith, and humor in ways that reflected his unique perspective on life.
He was a cherished brother to Mary (Dodds) Johnson, Fr. Michael Dodds OP, Teresa Dodds, and Betsy Dodds, sharing lifelong bonds filled with love, support, and many moments of laughter.
Bill will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his resilience, his love for family, and the laughter he brought into the world. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the countless smiles he created.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, siblings, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on April 20, 2026 10:00am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Seattle to celebrate his life, faith, and the joy he shared with others. A reception will follow the funeral and the burial will be at Holyrood Cemetery, Shoreline.
