beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed away September 4th in Seattle. He had Alzheimer?s disease for the past several years but remained his good-natured self all the while. He was the sweetest, kindest, most gentle person you?d ever want to meet. He will be sorely missed, but will live in the hearts of his family forever. Earl was born in Prescott, Washington, June 8, 1927 to Gilbert and Mabel Reavis, the second youngest of nine children. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1946, then followed his brother, Bob, to Seattle, where he later graduated from the University of Washington. His first post-college job was with the Marv Minzel Wholesale Jewelry Company. Earl later worked at Western Farmers Association, and Smith & Ardussi, which became his all-time favorite job until his retirement in 1992. He was an avid Husky fan, and had season football tickets for over 45 years. One of his greatest pleasures was taking his sons and grandsons with him to the games. Earl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sherry; daughters Rosemary Fisher and her husband Blaney, and Peggy Amelia Reavis; sons William Bill and Robert and his wife Reiko; four grandsons, Daniel and David Stevens, and Eddie and Charlie Fisher; three granddaughters, Raven Demers, Marina and Ami Reavis, and great-granddaughter Anastasia Demers. He is also survived by brother Glenn Reavis, Portland, and sisters Betty Van Slooten, Salt Lake City, and Jean Weaver of Touchet, Washington, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be 2PM on Saturday, September 15th at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home 206 362-5200. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice of Seattle or the Alzheimer?s Association.
