William (Bill) ROTH, passed way on July 20, 2009 at the age of 89. Bill was born and grew up on a wheat farm in Lind, WA, then came to Seattle to attend the Univ. of Washington. Graduating in 1940, he married his college sweetheart. During WWII he served on Attu in the Aleutians. Continuing his military career in the reserves Colonel Roth eventually became Commandant of the Seattle Army Reserve School until his retirement in 1980. Bill earned his doctorate degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, retiring in 1989 from his position as Director of the Washington State Food and Drug Laboratory. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 58 yrs, Betty. He is survived by children Bill and Julie, siblings Edna, Lennie and Betty and many nieces and nephews.
