Nona was preceded in death by Robert J. Newman married for 37 years; Parents Roy and Mary Smith and Stepdaughter Valorie Newman. She is survived by Donald R. Newman Wife Roylene, Grandchildren Jessica & Spencer of Shoreline, WA. Stepdaughter Lynda Mathers, Husband Gary, Grandchildren Denette, Joe, Mimi, Jamey of Longview, WA. Laura Lefebvre, Grandchildren Delmer, Stephanie, Tommy, Timmy & Jack Shoreline, WA. Marquita Ward, Husband Ron, Grandchildren Ronda, Cade of Longview, WA. Stepson John Newman, Wife Glenda, Grandchildren Keith, Casey of Shoreline, WA.

Nona grew up in Sumner, WA . Married to Robert Newman in 1955 and moved to Shoreline, WA . She spent over 30+ years working for the State of Washington with the mentally disabled. After she retired from the State she continued to work part time with elderly homecare assistance. Her passion was knitting and crocheting. Through the years she took up classes in knitting & crocheting at the Shoreline Senior Center and Local Yarn Shops. She also volunteered her time at the Senior Center in the Thrift Shop. She loved to teach neighbors and kids how to knit or crochet. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her Grandchildren. Nona will always be remembered by teaching lessons in life, her last lesson in life to teach her son PATIENCE.
