

Winslow F. Waite (Win), 87, of Mercer Island, WA passed away March 5th 2016 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Win was born an only child to Vera and Wayne Waite in Seattle, WA. on July 24, 1928. He graduated from Lincoln High in Seattle and then continued on to receive a bachelor's degree from Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. Win worked for the Boeing Company as an Acoustical Engineer for over 35 years, retiring in December 1987.
Win married Donna Haynes at the Fremont Baptist church in Seattle on July 10th, 1953 and they remained together for 62 wonderful years. Win is survived by his loving and devoted wife Donna, three daughters, Ruth Matulka (David Matulka), Nancy Wilson (Tim Wilson), Janice Waite (Chris Tanner), his son, Gordon Waite (Susan Mello), grandchildren David Peck, Ronald Peck, Tommy Wilson, Casey Wilson, Lucy Tanner, Vera Waite, and great grandchildren, Kyler Peck, Kaiden Peck, and Jacob Wilson. Win was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Waite in 2002.
Win loved the outdoors. He was a member of The Mountaineers organization with Mt. Rainier being one of his conquests. He enjoyed camping and hiking with his wife and young family, and passed his love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. Win and Donna made several trips abroad, which included a trip to Europe where among many sites they visited the Matterhorn in Switzerland and a trip to Egypt where Win found himself riding on a camel. Win and Donna also enjoyed many years of square dancing with the Samena Squares Club. Win was a long time member and usher at Seattle First Baptist Church.
Win will be remembered for his quiet manner, sense of humor, and devotion to his family.
