

“Bobo”
Antonio Alvarez, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, entered the kingdom of heaven early Saturday morning, January 17, 2015 at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center at the young age of 53 following a heroic battle with cancer. Friends and family are invited to Goetz Funeral home on Thursday January 22, 2015 from 5 to 9 pm for a time of visitation with a rosary service at 7:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to return to Goetz Funeral home Friday morning at 8:00 to 9:30 for a morning visitation. Antonio’s funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 409 West Krezdorn Street, Seguin at 10:00 Am, Friday, January 23, 2015 with committal services following at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery on East Walnut Street in Seguin.
Antonio was born to Jose’ and Elvira (Gomez) Alvarez on May 30, 1961. “Bobo” was a quiet and reserved man who loved sports. He married the love of his life Sylvia Alvarado in Seguin, and together they worked hard to raise their family together. He had real pride in his family and selflessly devoted himself to them. “Bobo” was a dedicated friend, one whom would drop what he was doing to help a friend in need. His joking nature was always making everyone he knew laugh. He would never give up and never say no. Even though he was sick from cancer, he worked up until the day he was put into the hospital. He was preceded in death by his father Jose’ and his sisters Bertha Alvarez and Lucy Alvarez.
Antonio leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, his daughter Angel Alvarez, his son Antonio Alvarez Jr. and his granddaughter Adahlynn. He also leaves his mother Elvira Alvarez, his sisters Velia Leal and her husband Marcelino; Theresa Alvarado and her husband Rudy and Alice Martinez as well as his brothers; Robert Alvarez, Henry Alvarez, Joe Alvarez and his wife Nancy and Sam Alvarez and his wife Barbara and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sam Alvarez Sr., Robert Alvarez, Marcelino Leal Jr., Joe Alvarez, Randy Gill, Jesus M. Olveral and Jeremy Bruns as an honorary Pallbearer.
