Billy Joe "BJ" Hinson

Billy Joe ”BJ” Hinson, 75, went to be with the Lord on Monday September 23, 2013 at Kirkwood Manor Nursing Home in New Braunfels. He was a second generation pharmacist who followed in his father’s footsteps. He was a pharmacist for 51 years. He worked alongside his father at the family owned pharmacy, Stockton Pharmacy, in Fort Stockton. He was a pharmacist for Walmart for 13 years in Fort Stockton and Brownwood. He also worked at Strickland Drugs in Blanco until 2012 and Lifechek Pharmacy in New Braunfels. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Texas in Austin. BJ married Dolores Hinson on June 10, 1989 in Brownwood, Texas. He never met a stranger in his professional and personal life. BJ's hobbies included fishing and hunting.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe D. and Maggie Pearl Hinson; a son, Greg Hinson and a sister, Wilma Shuster.

BJ is survived by his wife Dolores; 2 sons, Todd Hinson (Kim) and Michael Hinson (Caroline); step daughter Melanie Lopez (Jacob); step son- Shane Pairish; 4 grandchildren, Jamison, Adelle, Emily, and Grant; 4 step grandchildren, Byron (Taylor), Blake, Baylee and Joseph & family; 1 step great granddaughter, Kyndal and nephews, Joe Shuster, David Shuster and Bobby Shuster.

Graveside services will be held at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton on October 19th at 2 pm.
