

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Thomas W. Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Luther Paul Sagebiel; son Pat Sagebiel with wife Missy; son Craig Sagebiel and wife Pam; son Bobby Sagebiel and wife Molly; daughter Debbie Sagebiel Moncrief and husband Bobby; daughter Julie Kay Sagebiel; brother Jack Anderson and wife Ruth of Houston; sister-in-law Rosalie Anderson; grandchildren: Monica Sagebiel Ewing and husband Robert, Patrick Sagebiel and wife Abbie, Cristy Harrison Wilke and husband Justin, Alan Harrison and Terry Harrison, Laura Sagebiel Nash and husband John, Erika Sagebiel Braune and husband Dean, Andrea Sagebiel Taylor and husband Gary, Sgt Jason Sagebiel, (USMC, Ret.), SSgt Ann Sagebiel, USMC, SSgt Amanda Sagebiel, USMC, Christine Moncrief, Amy Moncrief Cardiel and husband Paul; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Dorothy grew up in San Antonio, Texas, graduating from Breckenridge High School. She attended Texas Lutheran College where she met her husband Luther on a blind date. She then attended the University of Texas and received a degree in History. Dorothy and Luther were married January 26, 1943, recently celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary.
Dorothy was very active in many organizations and activities, including: Study Club, Shakespeare Club, Tuesday and Friday Afternoon Bridge Clubs, leading Girls Scouts, bowling, Zonta Club, MHMR, and supporting TLU Athletics. She was a member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church before becoming an original founding member of Faith Lutheran Church 44 years ago. She was active in her Circles as well as Church Women United and singing in the choir.
She worked alongside her husband Luther in the downtown Bus Station as well as the Seguin Travel Agency at 1013 W. Court St. In her later years, she became a doting and proud “Meme” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, June 3rd at Faith Lutheran Church. Dorothy's grandchildren will all act as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, TLU, or MHMR of Guadalupe County.
