Lillie Caroline Schafer Dotson

Lillie Caroline Dotson of Seguin, TX passed away peacefully on July 7, 2015 at the age of 100 years and 10 months at Nesbit Nursing Home. She was born September 1, 1914. She is preceded in death by husband Henry Gordon Dotson, Sr.; daughters Little Mary Dotson, Geraldine Dotson Reneau, son, Leslie Clay Dotson and wife Jan, and son-in-law Clarence Jahnsen.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara and husband Ernest Neumann, Sr., daughter Twixie and husband Wayne Krueger, daughter Lillian and husband William (Squecky) Barganier, daughter Betty Jahnsen, son-in-law Elmer Ray Reneau, son Jimmy and wife Charlotte Dotson, son Henry Junior Dotson, Jr., and wife Judy. She has one surviving sister, Elaine Dotson.

She had a large and loving family of 9 children, 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. Her love of flowers and her vegetable gardening kept her busy. She won Yard of the Month for all her beautiful flowers and roses. She often had people stop by to adore her garden and flowers and would gladly give them vegetables out of her garden and not take money. She would often find flowers and plants on her porch for her kindness and their appreciation to replenish her garden. She was loved by all. She had a loving and kind heart to all who knew her.

A special thank you goes out to Nesbit Nursing Home and all the great and loving nurses who cared for our mom, grandmom and great grandmom, as well as the caregivers from Hospice of Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. They did such a great job of loving and caring for her. You all are truly appreciated. She will be missed by all who came in contact with her. To her special friend and roommate, Mrs. Hosley, she loved you dearly and all others who came to visit with her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 5 to 7 at Goetz Memorial Chapel at 713 N. Austin Street, Seguin, TX. Services will be at 10 a.m. at Goetz Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 10, 2015 with interment to follow at San Geronimo Cemetery, Walnut Street, Seguin, TX.
