Mary Wauneeta Leming Wolfe

Mary Leming Wolfe left this world to be with her Savior Jesus on Sunday March 1, 2015 at age 83. She was born Mary Leming on August 12,1931 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Freda and Ernest Leming. She was the second child and only girl with five brothers, as she so enjoyed pointing out – Ernie, Jack, Fred, Bill, and David. She was a cheerleader at her high school and married her high school sweetheart, David Clay Wolfe on March 2, 1951. They moved to Belmont from San Antonio in 1979 when Dr. Wolfe opened his orthopedic practice in Seguin for the next 13 years.

Mary was a beautiful lady, inside and out, full of life, funny, compassionate, who touched many lives, never met a stranger, and brought much love to her family and friends throughout her life. She and David were very active members of First Baptist Church of Seguin for many years and Mary loved her Sunday school class. She was also a great supporter of First Baptist Christian Academy when it was active, especially the library, donating many children’s books.

She was also a member of the Guadalupe County Republican Women’s Club of Seguin and of the Seguin Study Club. Mary was an avid golfer and made many friendships though that sport. She and Dr. David Wolfe loved to play golf together, and also traveled the world after he retired in 1992. With such a love for the Lord and for people, Mary gave much of her time visiting nursing homes in Seguin and helping with Vacation Bible School in the summers at First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. David Wolfe, on Monday September 8, 2014. This March 2 would have been their 64th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her son Ken Wolfe, and his wife Linda, her grandsons Mark Wolfe and wife Veronica, Dr. Stephen Wolfe and wife Kristin and great-granddaughter Hattie Kay, her brothers Jack, and Bill and wife Marilyn of Oklahoma. All loved her and have been forever touched by her life and will miss her terribly, but know that she lives on eternally in Heaven with Jesus.

Memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary Leming Wolfe will be on Saturday, March 21, at First Baptist Church in Seguin at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church.
