Paul C. Mendez

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Adelaida Mendez; brothers, Frank and Jesse Mendez; sisters, Isabel Mejia, Carmen Garibay and Connie Hernandez.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Mary Ellen Mendez; daughters, Sonia Mendez and Rebecca (David) Aguilar; brothers, Raymond (Belia), Pete (Alice), Joe (Dora) and Blas (Lupe) Mendez; sisters, Terry (Dan) Cruz, Janie Alvarez, and Mary Ann (Robert) Gonzales; Grandchildren, Raquel, Jacob, Andriana, Jessica, Michael and Ashlie Aguilar; 4 Great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was employed in the maintenance department at Texas Lutheran University and at Prairie Lea I. S. D. He retired in 2012 from the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Goetz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:00 a. m. Interment is to follow going in procession to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
