Sam Flores

Sam Flores passed into the loving arms of the Lord on the 25th of July, 2011, at the age of 82. He was born in San Marcos, Texas to Jose Flores and Agustina Flores on June 11, 1929. During the time he spent on this earth, Sam had many accomplishments. He was a faithful servant of God, his country, his family, his students and his community. Sam was always willing to lend a helping hand and was part of many projects to better his community. Compassion and empathy were always expressed to the less fortunate. Many citizens sought help and advice from Sam. As a family man he was a loving husband to his wife Velia. During their 58 year marriage they were blessed with two sons, Cesar Flores with Fiancée Dianna White, Sam Flores II, and one daughter, Leticia Flores. Sam loved children and spent most of his retirement days with his grandchildren; Naomi Flores, Bianca Brown with husband Rudy, Jeremiah Flores with wife Melissa, Sam Flores III, Lauren Flores and Michael Flores; he is also survived by his great grandchildren; Alanna Morales, Valeri Morales, Jeremiah Flores Jr, Kassandra Travino, Marco Torres, Anaya Flores, April Flores, Katori Flores, Jazdin Flores, Mariah Flores, Ivrin Flores and Kyndall Flores-Hall .

Sam was a protector, a problem solver and most of all a hero to his family. He will be dearly missed by all.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Seguin -Guadalupe County Coliseum from 4-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery with military honors.
