Theresa Ruth Stratmann Bowles

Theresa Ruth Stratmann Bowles was called home by our heavenly Father surrounded by her loved ones Saturday, February 6, 2016 at age 66 at the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, Texas. She was born June 20, 1949, to the late Edgar and Sonja Stratmann of Yorktown, Texas. Theresa graduated from Yorktown High School in 1967. She was a member of the Gruenau Sons of Hermann Lodge Hall 117. Theresa was born and raised in Yorktown, Texas, but moved to Seguin in 1973, where she met her husband, Edwin Burnett Bowles Jr. and later married him in 1978 at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church of Seguin. Together, Theresa and Ed raised their family of seven children. Theresa loved her family and was a wonderful homemaker and mother of her children. Theresa was a working mother and started her career at Motorola in Seguin, Texas, where she retired after 30 years of service as an Administrative Assistant to the Plant Manager in 2005. She loved to garden and work in the yard as her love of the outdoors was evident in her home and life. She loved to go camping and take vacations as often as was possible with the family. She was loved by all who knew her.

Theresa is survived by her seven children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Her daughters are Michelle Len Trevino, husband, David and their children David Myles, Caleb (deceased), and Falon Beckham and her children, Caden and Sofia of Seguin, Texas; Melissa Lene’ Wolfe and daughter, Lene’, and Lene’s son, Kyson Ira, of Pflugerville, Texas; Tasha Rochelle Alaniz and her husband, Robert, and son, Axl Bowen, and daughter, Paisley Alessandra, of San Antonio, Texas; Tammy Jo Bowles and son, Michael, of LaCoste, Texas; Helen McCulloch and daughters, Faith and Nicole of New Braunfels, Texas; Brandon Bowles of Seguin, Texas and children Brandon Gage and Hailey of Seguin, Texas; and Daniel Ray Bowles and wife, Angelina, of Seguin, Texas.

She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Edgar Stratmann and wife, Joan, of Muldrow , Oklahoma.; Rodney Stratmann and wife Cathy, of Victoria, Texas; Gwenn Wolf and husband, Lynn Douglas, of Arneckeville, Texas; and Wanda Styra and husband Charles, of Yorktown, Texas.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin B. Bowles Jr. and her parents, Edgar and Sonja Stratmann, and brother, Carol Jeffery Stratmann.

Visitation will be Monday February 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home located at 713 N. Austin Street, Seguin, Texas 78155.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday February 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church located at 206 N. Travis Street with the Reverend Paul L. Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park at 2951 State Hwy 46 S., New Braunfels, Texas.
