

Age 71, died peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren on July 19, 2020, after an 8 year battle with myelofibrosis.
Barbara was born on June 7, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to her parents, Elmo (Bud) and Katherine (Kaye) Puckett. She graduated from Wingfield High School in Jackson, Mississippi in 1967, and attended Hinds Junior College. Barbara retired in 2013 from the URS Corporation after a successful career as a Contract Administrator. Knowing each other since high school, she was married to Alan Pittman in 2014, after having reconnected with each other in 2012.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Alan Pittman; her children, Jerry (Jay) Welch and Jennifer Welch Alcina (Gary); stepson Jeff Pittman (Libby); sister-in-law Marietta Pablovich Puckett; nephews Scott Puckett (Theresa), Robert E. Puckett, Jr. (Rebecca), and Kenneth Puckett; and nieces Katherine “Kim" Finch (Roger) and Mandy P. Caldcleugh (J.P.) She leaves nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo Rowland “Bud” Puckett and the former Katherine “Kaye" Maynord as well as her brother Robert “Bob" E. Puckett.
Barbara was a faithful and active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Her greatest loves were for God, her children and grandchildren. She spent her leisure time playing golf, decorating her home, landscape gardening and playing with her grandchildren. She will forever be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorial donations to the Myelofibrosis Foundation or to Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Seminole.
