Lovingly known to most as “Cindy”
April 6, 1965 – August 24, 2022
The light in the world flickered with the passing of Cynthia (Cindy) Crampsie on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Cindy was 57 years young and lived in Largo, FL with her husband Daniel (Danny), close by much of her family.
There is nothing more empowering than being seen, celebrated, and known for who you are. That was one of Cindy’s greatest strengths; seeing and celebrating individuals for who they are. Her connections with friends and family were rooted deeply in compassion. Compassion and respect for who she saw they were. “Take me as I am” is the philosophy she had for herself and welcomed in others.
Cindy shared a particularly close connection with her siblings. Recently, they celebrated her life with an adventure to Coral Castle. A place of mystery that Cindy long wanted to see in Homestead, FL.
Her family also remembers her unique connection with children. She didn’t hesitate to jump in to lead sing-a-longs or dance parties. “On top of spaghetti” and “Rudolf” complimented with exaggerated hand motions and bouncy movements were two of her favorites. It was hard for on-lookers not to smile and find a bit of joy in her child-like spirit. It’s easy to see why children were drawn to her. Partly because of her welcoming presence, but mostly because she was very intentional about seeing them, listening to them, and connecting with them.
Cindy was known for searching for the good in people and situations. Her positivity, forgiveness, compassion, and concern for others was a strength that made her particularly warm. In the midst of tragedy and heartbreak, she still overcame trials to lead a life unchanged or hardened by loss. She was truly a beautiful soul.
Cindy leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Danny, and their son, Christopher (Chris) Crampsie. Her soul will find peace as she joins her sons, Nicholas (Nicky) Crampsie and Kyle Crampsie. A great heart is lost, but will forever be remembered in the lives she touched that still remain.
