He went to Vietnam for 2 years and came home to work with his dad and his brother Garry in concrete construction. While in the Army he made the rank of sergeant and became a helicopter mechanic. Unfortunately, he was also exposed to agent orange before anyone knew it was a neurotoxin.
After returning from Vietnam, he spent his years working and got married to Linda Graves. They had three children together; Carla, Marcy and Jason. They divorced and then he found the love of his life, Phyllis Horn. They enjoyed life together, touring around Indiana countryside, fishing and boating nd going to festivals and fairs. He stayed with Phyllis Horn for the rest of her life until she lost her battle with cancer. He had her cremated and told his children he wanted to be buried with her ashes.
He has family, friends, and associates in and around the Indianapolis area because he grew up and worked in the same area all his life. He will be greatly missed by many. He was quite the character, always joking around and laughing at life, it was rare to see him down or sad. When he found out he couldn’t live alone any longer and had to move to Florida to be cared for by his children. He still found humor in life and continued to laugh and crack jokes with his kids and friends when they visited. He is survived by his brothers, Garry and Robert; his children, Carla, Marcy, and Jason and his grandchildren, Autumn and Damon.
