Fredrick Stanley Moore

Fredrick Stanley Moore “Fred”, 65, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on December 19, 2024. By his side was his beloved wife of 39 years Esther Denise (Mendes) Moore, and his loving children Marques Moore and Nicole (Moore) D’Amico.

Fred was born in Sebring, Florida to the late Moses Sr. & Catherine (Pressley) Moore and was one of eight children. The family resided in Avon Park, FL and as a graduate of Avon Park High School, it was during these formative years where Fred’s love of sports was deeply ingrained.

Fred was a fan of nearly all sports, but it was baseball that captured his top spot. He played, coached, was a lifelong spectator and a long-time umpire of the game. He spent over 25 years umpiring youth baseball and softball in the St. Petersburg area and across the state of Florida. It was through his passion for the game and teaching the sport to children that his light would shine the brightest. Coaches and Parents alike enjoyed when he stepped onto their field because they knew that although he could be tough, they would have a fair and respectful game with him behind the plate.

When he wasn’t working in youth sports, he could be found spending time with his wife and family. He loved to cook often trying out new recipes but also making the comfort foods the family loved. One of his most favorite pastimes was cruising with his wife spending quality time exploring new places. He also enjoyed time with his cherished granddaughters Giavanni and Isadora. Some of his favorite times with them included watching his eldest granddaughter fall in love with the sport he loved as she embarked on her softball career and having impromptu dance parties with his girls no matter the time or place.

Fred is predeceased by parents Moses Sr. & Catherine Moore, as well as siblings Moses Moore Jr. and Evelyn Cooper. In addition to his wife Denise, he is survived by his children Marques Moore and Nicole D’Amico (Kevin); granddaughters Giavanni D’Amico and Isadora D’Amico; siblings Ernest Cooper (Phyllis), Horace Moore (Shaun), Egeria Moore, Reginald Moore (Joann); Wendell Moore (DeAndrea); and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Fredrick had a dynamic spirit and never met a stranger. He is loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

Visiting hours will take place Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11 am - 12 noon at Central Christian Church, 6161 22nd Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL. 33710 followed by a 12 noon service.
