

Erich Kenneth Krauss was born in Middle Village, Long Island, NY on Oct 13, 1941. He is survived by his daughter, Kim, granddaughter, Kailey (Zack) Meyers, grandson, Kaden Quintiliani and his brother, Jerry Krauss and numerous nieces and nephew. Kenny attended elementary school at PS119 on Long Island in Glendale NY and graduated from St. Pete High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. After High School, Kenny went to Germany to visit his grandmother and other relatives He would have loved to have stayed and learned to be a chef over there. He has always loved to cook! But Kenny returned to the States, met and married his wife, Carole, in 1966. They were married for 53 years until her death in 2019. Kenny and Carole had two children, Kim and Kyle (who died 9/16/2023) After 30 years at GTE, Kenny retired at the age of 50 and joined his brother, Jerry, and nephew, Kevin, working at Seminole Lanes for another 25 years running the youth program, Summer Learn to Bowl classes and driving a bus to bring students to the Bowling Center along with other various jobs until he took full retirement at the age of 75. Kenny is also survived by his nieces, Carrie Roach, Nancy Krauss and Christine Patel.
Kenny was a Pinellas Park Rotarian, inducted into the Club by his brother, Jerry, in 1974. He served as their president for the 1987-88 Rotary year and was an Assistant District Governor for District 6950 in the 1989-90 Rotary year. Kenny & Carole attended the Rotary International Convention in Munich Germany in 1987. Kenny’s Favorite part of the convention was a trip to have dinner with a local Rotarian Family. Kenny was chosen as Pinellas Park Rotary Club’s Rotarian of the Year in 2015 for his service to the club. Through the years, Kenny has enjoyed his time in Rotary, serving the community…and has loved serving by cooking. He has prepared many delicious meals (dinners & breakfasts) for Ronald McDonald House, Hot Dogs & Brats at City of Pinellas Park’s Country in the Park, and prepared and served the food at Rotary’s annual bowl-a-thons and just was recognized and celebrated for his 50th Anniversary in Rotary.
Kenny attended and served various ways at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Throughout the years, Kenny also enjoyed volunteering at his grandkids school, participating in their activities.
Kenny treasured his lifelong friendships for over 60 years with Gus and Helene Dueben, Mark and Sherry Godcharles, Larry and Elissa Severance and Mel and Karalee Bidwell.
In Kenny’s last 2 years, he learned how to relax and enjoy life residing at Lake Seminole Square.
Kenny’s love of life touched so many people in so many ways; he will surely be missed by all.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at St Matthew Catholic Church, 9111 90th Avenue, Largo, FL 33777. A celebration of life for Kenny will be held following the mass at Seminole Lanes, 8668 Park Blvd, Seminole, FL 33777.
