Paul C. Bergquist passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, in St. Petersburg. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 19, 1948. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Hoover and her husband Richard; brother, Michael J. Bergquist and wife Connie; niece Cynthia Bittiker and husband Bryan; and by Colleen T. Bergquist. He was predeceased by his loving parents Carl and Claire Bergquist.
Paul graduated from Dixie Hollins High School, St. Petersburg, in 1966. He served as a boatswain in the US Coast Guard. After his service to his country, he returned to St. Petersburg to begin his career in broadcasting and film production, following the path of his father Carl. Paul gave his talents to WTOG-TV, WFLA-TV and finally to Postmark/Westend creating videos and films for countless clients and causes.
Paul was the kindest soul on the planet embodying more quiet dignity and spirit than can be imagined. His mantra was “Wag More, Bark Less”. This fitting song became a gift to all of those he touched. By his example we are blessed.
