

Rosemarie was born in Hartford, Connecticut on January 18, 1932, and was the daughter of the late John and Magdelena Lewis. She was the sister to the late John Lewis of Cromwell, Connecticut and the late Dolores Lewis Hayden of Newington, Connecticut.
In 1951, she married William (Bill) L. Ellison. After their marriage, the couple lived in Key West from 1951 until 1957 while Bill worked for the US Navy as a Sonar Instructor. Their only child, Sandra (Sandy) M. Ellison Lee, was born in Key West. The family later moved to Hartford, Connecticut, before relocating to Watertown, New York. While living in Watertown, Bill and Rosemarie Ellison owned and operated a car dealership known as Ellison Auto Sales.
In 1982, Rosemarie and her husband moved back to the Florida Keys and were long-time residents of Marathon and Key Colony Beach Florida. While living in the Keys, Rosemarie worked as a bookkeeper for an upscale women’s boutique.
In 2006, Rosemarie moved with her husband to Seminole, Florida to live closer to their daughter, Sandy. In 2014, her husband, Bill, died. Her daughter, Sandy, died on August 1, 2023. Rosemarie is survived by three sisters-in-law, Isabelle Ellison Murphy of Hamburg, New York, Barbara Ellison of Watertown, New York and Loretta Ellison of Gouverneur, New York, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in Rosemarie’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice and that those of the Roman Catholic faith have masses said in Rosemarie’s memory.
