Sarah F. Paddock, 89, of Tampa Bay, FL has passed away on August 18, 2023. Sarah was born 04/24/1934, in Roanoke, VA. She was a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. Sarah met her husband Russell E. Paddock during their time in the Navy. They knew each other for 6 weeks prior to their wedding on September 3, 1954. They celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to her husband’s death in 2003.
Sarah was an avid rug hooker and taught this ancient art to many others across the nation. Sarah shared her artistry and passion for rug hooking as a long time volunteer instructor at the Heritage Village Museum in Largo. She was preceded in death by her husband and youngest daughter. Sarah is survived by her eldest daughter, Kimberly L Paddock. Sarah wished to be cremated and will have full military honors as she wishes to be interned with her husband’s ashes at the Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines, FL. A committal Service will be held, Thursday, September 21st, 2023, Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL 33708.
