Elizabeth Bettye A. Griswold

January 4, 1934 – March 7, 2013

Bettye passed from this peacefully into the arms of her beloved Lord & Savior on March 7, 2013 at the age of 79.

Bettye was born January 4, 1934 to John & Margaret Mackey in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1954. She took one year of nursing before quitting to get married in 1956. That marriage ended in divorce in 1971.

She married Lyle Griswold in 1977. She was predeceased by her loving husband on August 14, 2012.

Bettye is survived by a son, Charles Huckey, of Temecula, CA and a grand daughter, Ashley Huckey, of Spring, TX. Bettye is also survived by a brother, Scott Mackey, of Oxnard, CA.

Bettye loved to learn anything new. She went to school and earned a license to sell insurance and real estate. She learned to manage Lyle’s construction business.

Bettye was prolific in needle work, particularly in counted cross stitch. She received many 1st Place Blue Ribbons and Best of Show Awards from the Clallam County Fair. She loved doing picture and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling, Bible studies, classical and gospel music, good food and animals. She helped with Lyle’s canine companion, Nikki, a large black Labrador retriever.

Bettye was a member of Sequim Bible Church and the Sequim Senior Center.

At her request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Lyle Griswold’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, Western & Central Washington State Chapter, North Tower, 100 West Harrison St N200, Seattle, WA 98119-4170.
