Burton Allen Hewett

Mr. Hewett was born December 2, 1943 in Brunswick County, son of the late Levie Burton Hewett and Mildred Robinson Hewett. He was the Owner and Operator of Burton's Garage and Burton's Storage. He loved the Lord and learned to play Christian music on his guitar, spend time with his grandchildren, and work in the yard on his tractor. He enjoyed good southern food, especially eating meals prepared by his wife Mary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Lane Hewett and Frances Robinson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 and a half years, Mary Jane Caison Hewett of the home; daughter, Cheryl Varnam and husband Dewayne of Varnamtown; two grandchildren, Danielle Varnam Evans and husband Ottrue Glenn Evans of Civietown and Drake Varnam of Varnamtown; sister, Nellie Varnum and husband Glenn of Wilmington; and brother, Reverend Gary W. Hewett and wife Carol of Supply.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at eleven o'clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina with Pastor Ricky Hewett officiating. Burial will follow in Silent Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Drake Varnam, O'Brian Robinson, Ottrue Glenn Evans, Joshua Hewett, Keith Leonard, and Richard Jones.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from five o'clock until seven o'clock in the evening at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Shallotte Chapel.
