Carl F Shirdon Jr.

He was born in Lilly, PA on March 16, 1943, and raised in Cresson, PA. In 1961, he moved to Maryland for better opportunities. He and Janet resided in Maryland for 33 years where they raised their family. They both had a love for long walks on the beach, fishing, and boating- which led them on a new adventure to Shallotte, NC, where they’ve spent the past 22 years. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his selfless hard work and generosity. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Carl Shirdon Sr.; his brother, Jim Shirdon, and his sister-in-law, Ann West.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Shirdon; his daughter, Terry Bradburn (and husband Greg); his daughter Karen Galdamez (and husband Alberto); his son Patrick Shirdon (and wife Donna); his dear sister, Mary Lou Diehl, and sister-in-law, Andrea Shirdon, as well as 8 grandchildren: Juan, Carlos, and Tony Galdamez; Elizabeth Parise (and husband Tony), Michelle and Samuel Bradburn; Andrew and Andrea Shirdon, as well as 3 great-grandchildren: Judah, Aria, and Hazel Parise, as well several aunts, nieces, nephews, and especially his big-hearted nephew, John West.

Mass will be held at St. Brendan's Catholic Church located at 5101 Ocean Highway W, Shallotte NC 28470, at 10am Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The interment will take place at a later date in Cresson, PA.
