Keggs was born September 23, 1940 in Alexandria, Virginia, son of the late James Marshall Simpson and Louise Frinks Simpson. He worked as a driver salesman for Anheuser-Busch until retirement. Keggs never met a stranger and loved to strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. He kept in communication with his childhood friends and just celebrated their yearly reunion after 67 years. His passion was watching the Cleveland Browns, Boston Red Sox and listening to his favorite songs on You Tube. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Audrey Simpson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Simpson of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina; daughter, Melody Lynne Simpson of Morganton, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Samantha Revis, Hayley Martin, Maddy Revis, Dustin Revis, and Mikal Simpson; two great grandchildren, Brody Martin and Braden Martin; two brothers, Muggs and Doots Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held.
