

Charles Edward “Chuck” Madden of Shallotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born to Francis Leonard and Evelyn (Griswold) Madden in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on February 8, 1940. Chuck was predeceased by sisters Evelyn, Amelia, and Theresa and brothers Alfred, Anthony, Paul, David, and Frank all of Canada. Surviving is sister Margaret McGuinness of Fort Erie, Canada.
Chuck leaves behind his wife, Kaye (McBane) Madden of Shallotte. He was the proud father of Richard (Mary Beth) Wilson of No. Tonawanda, NY and Sean (Christine) Madden of Hilton, NY. He was also loved by his step son, Brent (Lori) Smith of Durham, NC and step daughter, Stephany (Scott) McClean of Browns Summit, NC. He leaves behind three granddaughters, three grandsons, and four great grandchildren. Chuck cherished his “Girls”, Pepper and Dixie.
He graduated with a B.S. degree from SUNY Empire State, Buffalo. Chuck was employed at Dunlop Tire Corp, Tonawanda, NY as Employee Assistance Professional and at BryLin Hospital, Alden, NY. He was especially proud of becoming a US Citizen in 2009.
He and Kaye were involved with Books Are Fun Corporate Book Fairs in Southwestern Virginia for twelve years before moving to the NC coast.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to The Elephant Sanctuary, POB 393, Hohenwald, TN 38462, a rescue organization close to his heart.
