Donna Lockett

Donna Lou Lockett died peacefully on April 11th at her home in Shallotte, NC following a lengthy illness. Born Oct 11, 1946 she was the daughter of Margaret Fink-Ernest of Lewistown and Nickolas Christmas of Millerstown. She was raised by her aunt & uncle the late Ann & Morris Sweitzer of Reedsville. A 1964 graduate of Kish High School she was employed by the American Viscose Corp, Fisher Electronics, and Lockett Lures before graduating from nursing school in 1986. Employed as a staff nurse at Lewistown Hospital and Locust Grove nursing home she retired on disability after suffering a massive heart attack in 2008. Donna is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd "Rick" Lockett of Shallotte, NC, a brother George Ernest of Granville, daughters, Lora Bronson of Bahama, NC and Jennifer Long of Elizabethtown, Pa, sons Richard Lockett of Petersburg, Va, Larry Lockett of Port Royal, Pa, and Joseph Lockett of Milan, Mi. She has 3 grandchildren, Cody Bronson of Smithfield, NC, Jerred Long of Elizabethtown, Pa, and Julia Lockett of Northeast, Md. Donna enjoyed crochet and won dozens of blue ribbons for her beautiful afghans. She loved camping at Poe Valley State Park and had great pleasure when going on impromptu picnics. Donna was always happiest with a baby in her arms or children scampering about. She was a wonderful nurse, wife, sister, mother, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all.
