He was born November 22, 1961, to the late Harold Britt and Bonnie Milliken Britt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lynn Britt; sister Teresa Pierce; niece Latonya Britt; nephew Travis Strickland and mother-in-law Lois Baccarny.
Glenn married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Baccarny Britt, in 2010. After going their separate ways following high school, fate brought them back together later in life, where they went on to enjoy the very best years of their lives side by side.
His career began by working on a dredge boat before finding his calling as a car salesman, and later becoming co-owner of Shallotte Auto Sales, which was founded by his father Harold, with friend and business partner Jimmy Hewett. His hobbies and interest included spending time on the water clamming, oystering, fishing or just going for a joy ride in his boat. He loved to escape to his little music room to play his guitar, sing, write songs and have quiet
time with the Lord, which brought him peace and comfort knowing that the Lord had him covered. Although he called himself "retired"; once a car salesman, always a car salesman, Glenn was always on the hunt for a "good deal" on a used car. His love for finding a good car at a "good deal" was only surpassed by love for his family.
Glenn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but especially by those who were lucky enough to call him Pop. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the songs he sang, and the quiet river where his dreams were fulfilled and his memories will forever flow.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Britt; son Shane Britt and wife Devan; second mother Lynda Britt Simmons, who he greatly valued her presence in his life; sister Tammy Britt; grandchildren Fin, Fisher and Fia Britt; special nephew Dale (Jr.) Strickland; brother in love Scottie Lee Babson and his family; children in love Garrett and Katie Angelakis; grandson in love Cain Skipper; father-in-law Paul Baccarny; friend and business partner Jimmy Hewett, and special friend Timmy "Little Man" Howard; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A private Celebration of Life has been planned.
