James A Hewett

Mr. Hewett was born in Brunswick County on February 23, 1947 and was the son of the late George Albert Hewett and Eva Davis Hewett. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hewett. He retired from G.E. Aircraft Division of Wilmington. Mr. Hewett enjoyed life and lived to the fullest. He never met a stranger and loved everyone but most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved beach music and never missed an opportunity to get on a dance floor and Shag. He loved living at White Lake where made numerous friends that felt like family while being there. Mr. Hewett was a Mason.

He is survived by a son, Darren Hewett and wife Tonya of Currie; two grandchildren, ex-wife Shirley Hewett, Kristina May and husband Zachary and Hunter Hewett; two great grandchildren, Gracelynn and Beau May; two nieces, Sherry Farris and husband Lee and Michelle Garza and husband Pete all of Texas; significant other, Lisa Craven.

A celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 31, 2025 from eleven o'clock in the morning until four o'clock in the afternoon at the home of Darren and Tonya Hewett located at 10533 US Highway 421, Currie, NC 28435.
