Joan W. Porter

Joan Wass Porter age 82 of Supply, NC passed away Monday December 28, 2015 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia.

She was born on January 7, 1933 the daughter of the late Clement Aloysius Wass and Eleanor Virginia Symons Wass.

Joan retired as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Columbia Hospital in Pittsburgh. She loved to sew and read her Bible 2 hours each day; devoted to her husband, Family and most important the Lord. She fought valiantly through her health issues and never complained. She was a member of Gospel Center Baptist Church in Varnamtown.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years Jack Richard Porter; two sons, James Richard Porter and wife, Lisa and Jack William Porter and wife, Marcia; a daughter, Jeannine Porter Szulkowski and husband, David; four grandchildren, Jeremy Porter, Jacob Szulkowski, Justin Porter and, Jessica Szulkowski.

A celebration of her life will be held at 5:30 PM Thursday December 31, 2015 at the Gospel Center Baptist Church

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church
