

He was the son of the late Mary and John Lukasik. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea as a medical officer. He attended the University of Illinois for both his bachelor and medical degrees. He started and managed his medical OB-GYN practice for thirty years in Rockville, MD.
In 1990 he retired and moved to Hilton Head Island, SC for ten years. Here he found a passion for golf. In 2001 he moved to the Ocean Ridge community in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Here his love of golf continued and became a familar regular on the courses. He was an accomplished golfer with five holes in one to boast about. He had a love for travel. He and his wife had many adventures from Singapore, most of Europe, Hawaii, and most of the U.S. He also had a passion for trains and built an impressive HO train model layout, spending hours each week working on them. He was well known for always delivering jokes at parties and the golf course. He had an envious and huge knowledge of any kind of trivia .
John is preceded in death by nine siblings and a son. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Shirley Lukasik, the love of his life and best friend. He is also survived by one brother, five children, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
