Joseph "Joey" Elridge Stanley II

He was a Millwright and Rigger in the nuclear, steam and coal power plants with Duke Power and BHI for many years.

Joey was an avid scuba diver and Harley Davidson enthusiast. He was a member of the Concerned Bikers Association. Joey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather. He loved and adored his family tremendously. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Elridge Stanley Sr. and a sister, Joanna Stanley Jones.

He is survived by his mother, Jan Beck Stanley of Shallotte; his wife, Rebekah Stanley; five children, Jolynn Bax and husband Steven of Supply, Kimberly Southward and husband Matt of Sunset Beach, William “B.J.” Stanley of Shallotte, Ashley Ellis of Ash, Matthew McDonald and wife April of Winston-Salem; step-son, Michael McDonald and wife Regina of Shallotte; a brother, Jeffery Colt Stanley and wife Liz of Shallotte; a sister, Jamie Trull and husband Stephen of Shallotte; brother in-law, Dean Jones of Shallotte; special niece and nephew, Bobby Dean Jones and Jennifer Faircloth of Shallotte; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his numerous co-workers that he considered family.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday April 9, 2017 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Jennies Branch Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Benton officiating.

The family request that dress be casual. If you have a Harley Davidson shirt please wear at the service.
