Joyce "Faye" Wilkes

Faye was born June 27, 1947 in Columbus County, daughter of the late William Thompson and Mildred Meadows Thompson.

Faye was a classy lady who loved to dress up and be fancy. She was blessed to have her daughter Sandra, who was by her side everyday and so many others who loved her. "Grandma Faye" loved to be around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping and traveling with her husband before his sickness. Her favorite day out was going to the "shows" in Myrtle Beach and having dinner with her family. She loved to sit and listen to old time country music and sing along to every word.

She was a member of Jennies Branch Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Wilkes in 2014, three brothers, Harvey Thompson, Joseph E. Thompson, and Roger Thompson, and one sister Eloise Cartrette.

Survivors include her son Randy Wilkes and wife Melissa of Shallotte; daughters, Sandra Ward of Ocean Isle Beach, Kim Cheers and husband Barry of Shallotte, and Donna Prevatte and husband Robert of Lumberton; one sister Ann Edwards and husband Ronald of Whiteville; six grandchildren, Zach, Kayla, Justin, Jordan, Blake, and Braydon; five great grandchildren, Laikynn Mae, Addie Rose, Kinsley, Chloe, and Corey.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 27, 2023 at eleven o'clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina. Burial will follow at Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Justin Wilkes, Jordan Wilkes, Zach Cheers, Blake Prevatte, Braydon Prevatte, and Nate Thornburg.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2023 from five o'clock in the evening until seven o'clock in the evening at the funeral home.
