

Lawrence Edwin Beall, Jr., of Calabash, NC, formerly of Damascus, MD and Silver Spring, MD, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Larry was born October 22, 1945, in Washington, DC, to the late Lawrence Edwin Beall, Sr., and Edith Donaldson Beall. Larry attended school in Montgomery County, MD, graduating from Northwood High School, and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Maryland University College.
Larry began his career with the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. in 1964. From 1969 until his retirement in 1992, he served with dignity in the Montgomery County Police Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Larry began a second career in the flooring business for 12 years prior to relocating to Calabash, NC.
Devoted husband of Sandra Graham Hart Beall. Beloved father of Stacey Christenson (David) of Lakeville, MN, and George Edwin Beall (Dawn) of Adamstown, MD. Larry is also survived by his sister Betty Jean Beall Hambleton (Neal) of Hilton Head Island, SC, five adoring grandchildren Emily, Connor and Abby Christenson, Ashley and Lauren Beall, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and numerous friends.
Larry was a member of the Montgomery County Police Alumni Association, Honorary Member of the NC Sheriffs’ Association, Member and former President of the Myrtle Beach Corvette Club, and the National Corvette Museum. He was also a former member of the Blue Knights and the Harley-Davidson Owners Group. Larry was an avid car enthusiast, especially of Corvettes. He owned a total of six Corvettes through the years – a 1962, a 1961, a 1973, another 1961, a 2006 and a 2014.
