Marian was born March 30, 1943 in Guilford County, daughter of the late Gano Harold Hall, Sr. and Ida Sayers Lowe Hall. After high school she worked at Cone Mills until her children were born at which time the decision was made to be home and raise the family for several years. When she did return to the workforce, she started working for IBM computer systems in Greensboro until the opportunity arose to work with Guilford County School District where she remained until moving the family to Ocean Isle Beach. After settling in Brunswick County she began her career with the Brunswick County School System until her retirement in 2006. Marian was a beloved librarian assistant and front office assistant at Shallotte Middle School. She loved her work and enjoyed seeing multiple generations of families come through the school. Marian was a very loving, caring, and fun-loving woman. Her most valuable treasure was her family and she always put them before anything else. May her spirit live on in the hearts of all those touched by her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Worth Tippett in 2023.
Survivors include her children, Penelope Antoinette Tippett Ham and husband Thomas of Tampa, Florida and Priscilla Anne Tippett and husband Keith of Sunset Beach; six grandchildren, Mattie Antoinette Tippett, Hunter Worth Steagall, Sheridan Grace Ham, Zachary Dennis Steagall, Trey Alexander Steagall, and Caitlin Rose Ham; one brother, Gano Harold Hall, Jr. and wife Jean; two sisters, Norma Hall Sams and Sylvia Hall Pegram and husband Ben; three beloved cats, Maggie, Lady, and Precious; and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews and extended family.
