Mary Kathryn Grissett

Mary was born August 31, 1947 in Columbus County, daughter of the late Thomas King and Altia Smith King. She enjoyed gardening and decorating. Oftentimes she could be found reading decorating books. She enjoyed nature and being outside watching the birds in her backyard. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Grissett and three brothers, Douglas, Phillip, and Freddie.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Grissett of Ocean Isle Beach; sisters, Janet McCoy, Peggy Pelasara; brothers, Rabon King and Jerry King.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2022 at eleven o'clock in the morning at the Lou White Chapel of White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina. Burial will follow in Mintz Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Daniel McCoy, Dean Hegge, Randy Parker, Michael Norton, Robert Norton, and James Varnam. Edward Riggsbee will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at the home.
