Mary Shipley

Mary was born in Guilford County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Roy Anthony and Patricia Flynn Anthony. Mary and her husband Ken moved to Brunswick County in 1989. They owned and operated K.J. Shipley Incorporated. They had numerous construction projects which include commercial and residential. They operated the Ocean Isle Marina for sometime and she owned and operated Aunt Bee's ice cream and gift shop in Shallotte. Mary loved to fish and enjoyed riding her motorcycle and she was an avid NASCAR fan. She loved animals and her dog, Oreo. She will always be remembered for loving her family and making everyone laugh. She enjoyed life to the fullest.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Shipley of the home; a son, B.J. Shipley and wife Brittany of Ash; a grandson, Sidney Shipley; a brother, Carlton Zane Anthony and wife Amy of Stokesdale, NC; a sister, Kimberly Ann Williams and husband Dan of Stokesdale, NC; a sister from another mother, Robin.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date to be announced.
