Sarah Lou was born in Brunswick County on June 16, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Liston and Margie Coleman Long. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jimmy Tripp and a brother Danny Long and a sister, Judy McCullough. She retired from the banking industry after 42 years in Shallotte. She was the first woman elected as Mayor of Shallotte. She was a member of First Baptist Church Shallotte.
She is survived by a sister, Agnes Hewett of Shallotte; three nieces, Jessica Campbell of Supply ; Leann McCullough-Wham and Tina Swanson both of Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at two o'clock in the afternoon at First Baptist Church, Shallotte with Pastor Bob Weathers and Reverend Landis Lancaster officiating.
